He divorced his first wife, Angela in 1978 and now lives with his second wife near Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Almost his only connection with royalty was to buy, in 1956, Fort Belvedere, the one-time home of Edward VIII before his abdication. Gerald sold the pile, on the edge of Windsor Great Park, to an Arab businessman in 1976.

Prince Richard of Gloucester. Duke of Gloucester, 2nd. He was born by Caesarian section (as was his brother) when his mother was 42. The Gloucesters live quietly on their estate at Barnwell, which consists of 2,500 acres and is farmed by the Duke. His mother, Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester also lives there. He is known affectionately in the royal family as "Proggy" (Prince Richard of Gloucester); the bespectacled Duke dislikes alcohol and detests smoking. He and his wife also have grace-and-favor apartments at Kensington Palace.

Prince Edward George Nicholas Paul Patrick. (Alan Hamilton in the Royal 100 lists his birth date as 9 Oct 1935). He and his wife present the trophies at Wimbledon every year and is less well known in his position as head of the English Freemasonry movement. His title in that capacity being Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of England. His wife is a commoner, the strikingly elegant Katharine Worsley. The Kents have no lands or estate of their own. They sold the family home of Coppins, in the village of Iver, Buckinghamshire, and are now grace-and-favor tenants of the Queen at Anmer Hall, a large house on the Sandringham estate. They also have a grace-and-favor residence in St. James' Palace known as York House.

Sir Angus Ogilvy (who was knighted in 1989) was born on 14 September 1928. After leaving Eton he was commissioned into the Scots Guards and subsequently went to Oxford. Later he pursued a varied and successful career in the City of London, and he became chairman and/or director of a number of public companies. His main commitments now are in the charitable field. He is Chairman of the Advisory Council of The Prince's Youth Business Trust and is also on the Council of The Prince's Trust. Amongst other charitable commitments, he is President of the Carr-Gomm Society and the Friends of Youth Club UK. He is Patron of Arthritis Care, and Vice-Patron of The Friends of The Elderly, Gentle Folks Help and NCH Action for Children. He is also a member of the Royal Company of Archers which is The Queen's ceremonial bodyguard in Scotland. His interests include architecture, reading and music. He was made a Privy Counsellor in 1997.

The Hon. Mrs. Angus Ogilvy. Christened: Alexandra Helen Elizabeth Olga Christabel. Princess Alexandra and her husband, Angus Ogilvy, live at Thatched House Lodge, which is leased from the Crown Estates. This early eighteenth-century house is the only one within the royal parkof Richmond still in private hands. It has three acres of grounds and is surrounded by tall bushes to keep the deer (and the public) at bay. There two children were born there. Princess Alexandra has always shouldered a large burden of royal public duties and is a particularly popular figure. She is 6 feet tall. She has made something of a speciality of representing the Queen at the weddings of distantly-related European royalty.

Prince Michael relinquished his place in the line of succession because of his marriage to a divorced Catholic, but Buckingham Palace subsequently announced that his children would still be eligible to succeed to the throne. Christened: Michael George Charles Franklin. -- The last name was in honor of President Roosevelt, who was a close friend of the Duke, and one of the baby's godfathers, although at the height of the war he was unable to attend the christening. His father was killed in a flying accident only seven weeks after Prince Michael's birth. He is a director of Standard Telephones and Cables and three other City companies.
